Spray Dyed T-Shirt Class at the Blue Twig

Due to some health issues, I had to switch the April class to Saturday May 17th. So, I hope to see you then at the Blue Twig Studio in Colorado Springs at 10am. This technique is so ideal for folks who want something subtle and with exciting results for very little effort. You don't even have to draw!

I Got My Copy!

Hot off the presses and right out of my mailbox, here it is! I'm thrilled witless to see my article, and they gave me five pages to tell my gesso-on-fabric story. Happy dance!

Mixed Media Fish

I sprained my knee on Tuesday, but while I'm recovering I can still make good use of time doing small drawings and paintings in my sketchbook. I used craft acrylics and a couple old foam prints to make the moth and flower texture in blue on the right. I drew the letters for "Fly" in pencil and added some auras with water soluble colored pencil. I also lightly painted over the permanent marker drawing underneath the bottom of the fish. The fish itself came next - I copied and cut it out from a drawing in my sketchpad. I'm happy with the colors. I could shrink this down and use it on fabric art. Hmmmm?

More Photo Altering

This was some line art in pen and ink from my sketchbook. I loaded it onto FotoFlexor and chose the "sketch" special effect. It softens it, and makes it more complex, I think.

Cloth Paper Scissors Article!

Later this month my article on fabric art with gesso resist comes out in the May/June issue. I can't show any imagery from the article prior to publication as per my contract - but - I can promise some beautiful work to look at and ideas to try! I haven't yet seen the finished article myself, and am very excited, and eagerly awaiting it . . .
