More Progress on the U.N. Quilt
I dyed some fabric with Rit tangerine, let it dry, heat set, and went from there. Since the theme is solar power I wanted a sun-colored base. I then did some screen printing and stenciling to add interest and contrast.
Now I have to figure out how I want to piece the sun.

Surface Design for the U.N. Quilt Show
I'm painting, dyeing, stenciling, and drawing the first layers of fabric for my entry, "A Brighter Day, A Better World". Here's a link to click on to see the show's website.

Drawing with my Sepia Pitt Pen
Do I EVER get tired of birds? Not in my artwork, not in real life on our walks, not ever, ever ever.
These are done on fabric, and emphasized with some Caran de Ache water soluble crayons which give a watercolor-y look but keep the colors in place. After that, I think I'll add some thermofax printing to the background to make it more interesting, and some stitching to highlight lines I like.

Shades of Brown
Since this is early January, I'm seeing the bare branches and golden tones of grass. I don't mind the fallow time of year at all -this is a very creative time in the studio.
